First Southern Baptist Church of Del City began as an interest meeting of seventeen people in 1947 who had the desire to see lives transformed in the Mid-Del area. From that group of seventeen, First Southern was birthed in the newly developed area known as Del City. The first meeting of the newly formed mission decided to meet in a local residence. Soon word began to spread about an exciting group of people who wanted to serve their local community. From numerous tent meetings to the construction of a new building, First Southern began to grow.

After nearly four decades of immense growth, and thousands of baptisms, a new auditorium was constructed at 6400 S. Sooner Rd. right off of I-240. Today thousands from the Mid-Del, Choctaw, Moore, Norman, S. OKC and other surrounding areas gather to Encounter God’s presence at First Southern. The heart of the 1947 seventeen founders is still present in the hearts of those at First Southern today. We exist to encounter a Word from God, experience transformation by God, and express our love to God. Join us as we experience the next exciting chapter at First Southern Baptist Church.
